AAMHO has a huge concern about residents living in Park Model and RV homes in parks during the extreme heat of the Arizona summers. If air-conditioning is inadequate or if power goes out, lives may be at stake. So far we have put through two bills - one should pass in Spring 2025 - that prevent park managers from telling residents that they cannot use mini-splits or any type of air conditioner to keep cool. AAMHO President, Kath Noble, has co-authored a paper with ASU's Dr. Pat Solis and others and also co-written two flyers for Park Managers and Park Residents on how to prepare for power outages in mobile home parks during extreme heat.
