Do you live in the Western section of AAMHO District 8, in Bullhead City, Kingman or surrounding areas? if so, you are invoted to attend an "LTA  Lite" class taught by your District 8 Director, Charlotte Perkins, at Longridge MH Park in Bullhead City from 10 to Noon on Saturday, Feb. 28th.  An "LTA" refers to the Arizona landlord-tenant laws that apply to manufactured/mobile/park model/RV homes in a land-lease community, where residents own the home but lease/rent the land. If you want to make sure your rights are protected, and to know what responsibilities both you and your park manager/owner has towards you, then knowing the laws that affect you is very important! 

Charlotte will do a short overview of the AZ LTAs that apply to MH parks and leave plenty of time for questions. This is a FREE class and you will receive a hard copy of the LTA that applies to your home. Feel free to bring guests but note how many you are bringing when you register. Encourage them to join AAMHO if they are able! $35/yr, $60/2 yrs. 

AAMHO active members are invited to join a conversation about the increasing lot rents in mobile home parks across the nation, and particularly in Arizona. When AAMHO did "Listening Sessions" last Fall in various parts of Arizona, the lot rent increases were the top issue for nearly everyone. Most residents want to stay in their homes, but the rising lot rents are making it harder and harder, even leading to evictions. 

Join this upcoming session by registering on this website - it's free but only for active AAMHO members and a few representatives from our allies at other organizations.  You will receive regular reminders and then get the ZOOM link a few days before  March 11. "But What About Our Lot Rent?" will address the following: 

1. Why  AAMHO did not not submit rent stabilization bills in recent years or this year; what currently prevents/discourages any group from doing so? What is "Prop 207" and how does it affect attempts to pass rent bills? 

2. Does AZ have a "10% cap" on lot rent increases? 

3. How much are lot rents increasing in Arizona?  FACTS and PER CENTS;

4. How does AZ's "MH Relocation Fund" at the ADOH (AZ Dept. of Housing) work to help resident who have high lot rent increases and want/need to move?

5.  What have other states done to deal with rising lot rents in parks? 

6. Why the next Arizona election will play a huge role in determining what AAMHO can do in the next few years about rising lot rents.  Possible strategies that AAMHO can use to change the laws preventing rent stabilization. 

7. What you can do as an AAMHO member to help curb lot rent increases in the next few years. 

8. Sharing tips and tricks for coping with high lot rents at the present time. 

Our Annual AAMHO General Membership Meeting or AGM will be held from 9:00 AM to Noon on Saturday, March 28, in the Ballroom at ViewPoint Golf and RV Resort at 8700 E. University in Mesa, 85207.  Come early to sign in and let’s fill the room!  This year’s AGM is FREE and very easy to register for online at aamho.org.  We hope that our attending members will help us make up for this by donating a few dollars at the door or going crazy with our AAMHO 50/50 so we don’t lose money!  We will serve coffee, tea, water, muffins and fruit as you arrive. Please bring cash for the 50/50 and a checkbook if you want to join, renew membership or donate to AAMHO. We picked March 28^th  because it is AFTER Spring Training ends so hotels should be cheaper and traffic should ease up. We do not have the capability yet of allowing members to join via ZOOM due to spotty Internet in the room. Some groups, like Yuma, are carpooling and sharing hotel rooms so they can attend the AGM this year! So happy to have members attend this year from all across Arizona!
